I am half British and half Hungarian and was born in Jersey
(the British Channel Islands). My main interests are the pursuit of Local
and Family History. This Home page contains a selection of articles and
information of an international genealogical nature as well as my own ancestry.
I am a member of the Editorial and Publications Committees
of the Channel Islands Family History Society. We produce four Journals
and an average of two books a year. Most of my spare time is taken up with
dealing with research requests here in the Channel Islands, with writing
articles for various genealogical publications (at home and in England)
and with writing, edited and publishing books on the Channel Islands.
In addition to this, tracing my own family tree has led me to undertake
research in a number of places other than the Channel Islands - England,
France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovakia, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia.
Whenever time allows I have written up these visits to assist others who
may follow in my footsteps. Some of these items are included.
My father Fred Glendinning was a Civilian Internee of the Japanese in
Singapore during WWII. This subject is one of my primary interests.
I am currently writing a book based around the diaries of several internees
and would welcome any input, especially of survivors and their families
who have kept unpublished diaries and pictures - go to Civilian Internees.
